To enrol with DCS you must complete an Enrolment Form for the year and each term, pay a Term Fee comprised of a Registraion Fee and a Tuition Fee. Term fees are paid at studio reception by EFTPOS, VISA or Mastercard or by cash, cheque or Money Order.
Classes are offered on a full-term basis only. New students, who start mid-term, are charged for classes starting from the week they commence dancing.
Refunds do not apply for missed classes. If a student is advised by a medical practitioner to cease dancing mid-term due to illness or injury, a pro-rata refund will be considered upon receipt of a doctor's certificate. Students are however, welcome to attend a make-up class/ies in lieu of the class/es they have missed.
Tuition Fee Calculation
The total number of hours of 'scheduled classes' to be attended per week (to 2 decimal places) is multiplied by the standard hourly rate of $15.00 (same as last year) multiplied by the number of weeks in the term (10). 'Scheduled Classes' includes regular Stage Troupe workshops but not special workshops or rehearsals relating to rehearsals for exams, public performances, private lessons, etc. The term fee is then reduced by applying the total of the following 3 types of discounts -
1. Early Payment Discount
Provided you have no previous arrears on your account, and your term fee is paid prior to the end of week 3, an Early Payment Discount will apply. This discount is 10% if the term fee is paid during weeks 1, 2 or 3.
2. Multi-Class Discount
A further discount of 2.5% of the total class fee will be given for the 2nd and each subsequent hour or part of an hour members of your immediate family collectively attend classes each week. This discount was only 2% last year.
3. Student Loyalty Discount
Students who have been enrolled continuously with DCS for 1 full year or more have their loyalty acknowledged by receiving 1% additional discount for EACH full year of enrolment up to a maximum of 10% for 10 years or more.
The total of the above 3 discounts cannot exceed 60%.
BIG SPECIAL DISCOUNT FOR BABY BOPPERS AND TINY TOTS - This year we are giving all enrolled in these classes an extra 20% discount in Term 1 reducing to 10% in Terms 2, 3 and 4.
Capping of Tuition Fees
Provided the Term fee is paid in the first 3 weeks of the term, the maximum Tuition Fee per student is $75 multiplied by the number of weeks in the term. If the Term fee is paid after the end of Week 3, the cap amount increases to $79. Capping includes scheduled Stage Performance. workshops but does not include other special workshops or rehearsals for exams, public performances, private lessons, etc.
Term Registration Fee
A Term Registration Fee of $12.40 is added to the tuition fee calculated above for each student. The fee covers the cost of student security, newsletters, studio cleaning, Public Liability Insurance and membership of APRA, PPCA and AMCOS .
Quarterly Late Fee
A Late Fee of 2% will apply to any balance outstanding that has been brought forward from the previous term and still remains outstanding at the end of week 3 of the next following term. Anyone who is experiencing difficulty in keeping their account up-to-date should not hesitate to meet with the principal or studio reception staff so that special payment arrangements can be arranged.
Term Statements
A Statement of Account is produced for each student near the end of each term providing full details of all goods and services provided and all payments received during that term. As a separate account is set up per student to record all costs and payments in respect of our annual concert, a separate Concert Statement is also produced periodically until this account is finalized shortly after the concert.
Private Tuition
Time available for private tuition for eisteddfod solos is by appointment only. Miss Ilona charges $33 per half-hour session and this amount may be varied by some teachers. The fee can be shared for duos or trios. Private tuition fees must be paid by cash or cheque payable to the teacher's name at the start of each private lesson.
